Goodnight Seattle

Does it make sense to say goodbye when you know you'll be back?

I think not being able to answer that is what's kept me from updating this blog in two months. See, my internship with Microsoft wrapped up on August 26th, the same day I received an offer to come back full-time!

Ladies and gentleman, it's a dream come true, I've signed my contract and I'm back to Microsoft and Seattle next year :). But a lot more on that later.

For now, I'll close up this blog by saying bye to what I won't get back: my incredible experience with all the other interns.

It definitely was incredible dude, and although I don't miss it in the way I miss Hyderabad, there's so much to this summer I'm never gonna forget.

Part of it is connecting with awesome new people...

...hanging out with them, partying with them...

...having way too much margarita with them...

...saving up enough energy to bhangra dance to karaoke with them...

...and I could go on. But a big part of it is really getting to know the buddies you THOUGHT you knew :)

Or maybe it's just about making coconut bikinis with them and eating the leftovers.

In any case, you know you have reason to be thankful when all those buddies are awesome enough to make sure you have an incredible birthday in Seattle! Who cares if you end up embarrassing yourself beyond belief in the process :D. Remind me to tell you the strip-drink-YMCA story sometime.

West Coast, you've been incredible to us. Microsoft, you and I are gonna change the world. But for now, I've got only got a few more months to enjoy life as a student! So change your bookmarks all over again cuz I'm not through with this blogging thing just yet:

Til next time, goodnight Seattle :)

Back in business

Whoops :)

It's been forever since I updated this blog, and since last writing I finished up my summer in Seattle, spent my "summer break" (all week and a half of it) in Toronto, and then came back to Waterloo to start my last year of school.

Last. Year. Of. School.

Ahhh!

I don't know if that means I won't be blogging at all now, or that this is a better time than any to keep on blogging. In either case, lemme get a bit more settled over here, finish up the Seattle pics, and then we'll take it from there.

Hope everything's great on your end :)

This just keeps getting better

Check it out, now even "wonderfully dorky" videos travel at the speed of light :)

Since my last post, the video has been mentioned in a UK tech newspaper:
http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2141492/microsoft-interns-say-goodbye

And it's been anonymously posted to iFilm, getting over 20,000 hits and becoming the site's most popular "Feat of Stupidity". Hmm...
http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2677918

Oh - and if you've already seen the video, see it again. After the first 10,000 hits, we figured we should fix up the audio, and so now you get to hear us sing too.

Okay okay, so I should use the word "fix" lightly :)

(Scroll down 2 posts if you have no idea what I'm talking about)

Wow

Don't get me wrong, thank so much to everyone for the birthday wishes! Being so far it means so much. But I'm sorry, my favourite card so far is a really obvious choice...

Miss English Lady, you rock :)

I'm a star

Subject: 2005 Intern Music Video

I apologize for the wide distribution, but for the 2nd year in a row, a few of our interns have made a music video with MS specific lyrics and I thought some of you might get a kick out of seeing it. I would highly recommend reading the lyrics as the sound quality is rough and I also recommend saving it to your desktop for better/easier viewing. This is something the interns put together completely on their own with no help or prodding from the intern program.

Enjoy!
Caroline

Turn up your speakers. Download the file. And say bye bye bye to any decent opinion you held of me:

I recommend the 63 meg version :)
